It's hard to imagine an industry worth $4 billion without being aware of its existence. But have you been living under a rock? This is the perfect time to learn about the anime industry and why it's so popular!

How Anime Is Different

It's common to think of anime as a style of cartoon that's just for kids. But the truth is, anime is much more complex than that. Anime can be anything from high-quality Japanese animation to hand-drawn cartoons. There are even some Western productions that follow the anime style. Anime is also known for its unique storytelling techniques and use of Japanese culture, which sets it apart from traditional animation styles like Disney or Warner Bros.

Wondering how they make all those beautiful scenes? The answer might surprise you! An animator will sketch out the design on paper first, then scan it into a computer where digital effects are added in order to create a finished product. A key difference between anime and traditional animation is that each frame of an animated sequence may take hours to draw or paint, whereas each frame of an anime might include only a few seconds' worth of work. This means anime production studios have to rely on computers more than other studios do for their artwork.

Anime has been working hard to break free from its stereotypes and become mainstream entertainment for people with all ages and backgrounds. It already has a huge following in Japan and other East Asian countries, but it's making headway in America as well! Nowadays you can find popular former TV shows like "Pokémon" or "Dragon Ball Z" streaming on services like Netflix and Hulu, while new ones like “Attack On Titan” are coming soon!

The Anime Industry

Anime is a type of Japanese animation. Anime often combines hand-drawn and computer animation, which can make it seem more realistic. Anime is also characterized by colorful graphics and imaginative worlds.

Anime is primarily a Japanese medium with origins in the late 19th century. It's hard to imagine an industry worth $4 billion without being aware of its existence, but that's where you come in! This article will teach you about the anime industry and why it's so popular.

In addition to the animated cartoons, there are plenty of manga comics for sale or for free online reading.

It all started in 1873 when the first animation was made by a man named Eadweard Muybridge. He created this moving picture to prove that horses lifted all four hooves off the ground at one time while galloping an equal distance.

This type of animation eventually became known as "anime" because it was from Japan.

Anime eventually became popular after World War II during Japan's economic boom when they began exporting production studios to America and Europe because they couldn't keep up with demand domestically. Once anime became popular outside of Japan, its popularity grew rapidly within Japan as well.

Why Is Anime So Popular?

Anime has been loved for decades. It is a major contributor to the success of Japan's economy. Anime has been around since the late 1800s, when Japanese artists were commissioned by American newspapers to provide artwork and animation. One of the first popular anime was "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," which was released in 1937.

In the 1960s, Osamu Tezuka created "Astro Boy" as a manga series about a young robot boy who fights crime and protects Japan. In 1963, it became a TV series that was wildly successful in Japan and abroad.

In the 1980s, "Dragon Ball," an action adventure manga and anime series about a boy named Goku who searches for seven dragon balls to defeat an evil wizard, became hugely popular in both Europe and America.

The 1990s introduced Pokemon as one of the most iconic anime characters ever created! The original "Pokemon" video games were released in 1996 for Nintendo's hand-held Game Boy console. The game--in which players capture fictional animals called "Pokimon" and train them to fight battles--soon snowballed into an entire media franchise spanning video games, trading cards, toys, books etc.--and earned $4 billion annually! Today this industry is worth $4 billion globally.

Conclusion

Anime is a form of animation originating in Japan through the use of either hand-drawn or computer animation, where scenes are based on hand-drawn illustrations along with in-betweening. The word "anime" is derived from the English word "animation", which is itself derived from the Latin word "animare", meaning "to give life to".
